Jack and Josie’s wedding took place on a warm day in May at Gulliver’s Hall. Set within the Cotswolds, the venue’s farmhouse and barn gave the wedding weekend a quiet, destination feel — informal but well considered.
The wedding celebrations began the evening before, with freshly made Italian pizzas and a poolside gathering for friends and family. It set the tone for the wedding: relaxed, social, and centred around time spent together rather than a fixed schedule. The wedding ceremony took place in the garden. Led by celebrant Olivia Colman (not the actress), the ceremony was shaped by her trademark wit and warmth. Her weddings are known for being anything but traditional — full of banter, light humour, and well-told stories that capture the couple in a way that feels personal and unforced. This one was no exception, with a ceremony that felt entirely its own. Floral arrangements by Sweet Peas of Great Tew introduced colour and texture without dominating the setting. Food was a central part of the wedding day. Jack, a chef at Quince & Clover, oversaw a seasonal menu that reflected his approach to cooking — simple, ingredient-led, and precise. It was one of the defining elements of the wedding.
By the evening of the wedding, the focus shifted naturally from dinner to the dance floor. Music from Highway Stereo carried the night, with guests moving easily between the barn and the courtyard as the temperature softened. Gulliver’s Hall suits this kind of wedding well — one that unfolds over time, balancing structure with informality. In late spring, with settled weather, it comes into its own as a wedding venue.
